Music Comes To Margam

If you thought Margam was just about peaceful parks and historic abbeys, think again—From tomorrow music is turning up the volume in this scenic corner of South Wales!

From the vibrant In It Together festival, where big-name bands and family fun take over the fields, to the colourful celebration of Welsh culture at the Urdd Eisteddfod, Margam is the go-to spot for music lovers. From chart-topping artists to top youth performances, it’s going to be a week of celebrating sound, culture and community.

In It Together Festival, Old Park farm May 23-25

Now in its fourth year, this vibrant, family-friendly music and arts festival takes place from 23-25 May. Headliners this year include Kaiser Chiefs, Becky Hill & Ronan Keating

The Urdd Eisteddfod, Margam Park May 26-31

Europe’s largest Youth Festival. The Festival celebrates the Welsh language, culture and the wealth of young talent in Wales today. Margam Park will be transformed into a vibrant area for children and young people

In & Around Margam

Enjoy a host of activities from Mountain Biking to axe throwing with Margam Park Adventure. Explore the beautiful scenery of the park and surrounding areas whether by foot, wheels or pedalo.

The only Go Ape which boasts sea views. The course includes obstacle cross overs and zips up to 180m. It’s an exhilarating course with epic zip lines

Aberavon Beach boasts a 3 mile long sandy beach & lively promenade lined with tasty cafes & restaurants.

Public Transport

In It Together Festival

A shuttle bus will run between the train station and the festival site from 11.30am to 00.30 every 30 minutes. Price – £7.50 Per person. Coaches to Margam are also available from various locations across South Wales including Swansea, Cardiff, Newport, Neath & Bridgend. You can book tickets and find out more info here

X1 Bridgend to Swansea

The X1 to Bridgend goes from Port Talbot bus station to the entrance of Margam Park. Journey time 15 mins

Margam – Aberavon Beach

The X1 also runs from Margam to Port Talbot Hospital (handy to know!) but this is also a great stop to travel to the beach for the day (and avoids changing buses). It is then just a 20-minute walk or 1 mile to the beach. Find the timetable for the X1 service here
